HC paves way for ex-registrar to join AIIMS
New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today stayed an order of a single judge bench preventing former adhoc registrar V P Gupta from joining as Registrar of All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
Hearing Gupta's petition, a bench headed by Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah and Justice S Muralidhar put a stay on the single bench decision which had restrained Gupta from joining as Registrar of the institute on February 28.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) had moved the Court on March 27 to quash the order.
The single bench had stayed the then acting director's decision to permit a former adhoc registrar to rejoin duty.
The counsel submitted before the division bench that the single judge had overlooked the fact that the petitioners, a group of doctors, had nothing to do with Gupta joining the institute from January 7.
