Govt approves 18 FDI proposals worth Rs 1820.84 cr

New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) The Government has approved 18 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) proposals worth Rs 1820.84 crore.

On the recommendations of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB), Finance Minister P Chidambaram approved the FDI proposals related to Heavy Industry, Higher Education, Industrial Policy and Promotion, Information and Broadcasting, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Tourism and Economic Affairs ministeries.

The major investment proposals pertain to the departments of Heavy Industry, Higher Education, Information and Broadcasting, Industrial Policy and Promotion and Economic Affairs, an official statement said here today.
