Suspected fundamentalists held in TN capital

Chennai, May 15 (UNI) Close on the heals of the serial blasts in Jaipur, the city police today arrested four suspected fundamentalists.

The arrest assumes significance in the wake of the terrorist outfit, Indian Mujhahideen, which claimed responsibility of Jaipur blast, reportedly saying they targeted Chennai also.

Police said the four were being questioned on whether they belonged to any fundamentalist organisation and stayed in Chennai to create mischief.

Police had tightened security across the state following the serial bomb blasts on Tuesday and were maintaining close vigil on lodges and hotels to keep track of visitors to the city. However, they refused to reveal details about the arrested.
