Patil asks Rio to act firmly on law and order
Kohima, May 15 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil has asked the Nagaland government to act firmly with the prevailing law and order situation in the state, official sources here today said.
Mr Patil arrived here yesterday from Shokhuvi after attending an Attestation Parade of Assam Rifles there.
He was received by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his Cabinet members at the Assam Rifles helipad, from where he went to Raj Bhavan.
He then reviewed the law and order situation of the state in a meeting with Governor K Sankaranarayanan, the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, GOC 3 Corps, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North), Chairman of the Cease-fire Monitoring Group and Joint Director of SIB.
Mr Patil also assured that the Centre was ready to provide all possible help to maintain the law and order in the state.
He was accompanied by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) joint secretary Naveen Verma Chairman of Linguastic Minorities Commission Suresh Keshwani and others MHA officials.
