MRD allocated funds to Meghalaya
Shillong, May 15 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs 1430 lakh to Meghalaya towards second instalment of funds against the original allocation of Rs 4446 lakh under the Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) under the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission during 2007-08.
This release is being made for execution/completion of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools under the ARWSP.
The Ministry also approved the release of 506 MT of Common Rice during 2007-08 as subsequent release of foodgrains to the West Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya through FCI depots under the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY).
