Kollywood actors come together for a cause
Chennai, May 15 (UNI) With the aim of encouraging students to take education more seriously and as part of the Tamil Nadu Government's initiative to create a classless society through education, a special film 'Herovaa Zerovaa' (Hero or Zero) was launched here today.
Four of Kollywood's leading stars -- Surya, Vijay, Madhavan and Jyothika -- come together in this short film to express their support for the initiative to ensure no child of the school-going age was deprived of classroom education.
Bharatstudent.com, a community platform with over three million users, has joined hands with Agaram Foundation to make the film.
Carrying the message 'Only the educated are heroes,' the film was based on statistics collected by the Education Department on Child Labour, lack of education among women, ignorance of parents and disinterest among kids.
''The idea behind the film was to encourage daily wage earner parents, such as those employed in quarries, to send their children to school.
''Their financial status should not come in way of their children's education. And when actors take this message to the masses, it is expected to have its own appeal,'' organisers said.
Directed by Priya, the short film Harris Jeyaraj's music.
