Srinagar, May 15 (UNI) Contemplating to exploit marble reserves in the state, Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to identify and denotify more areas having such deposits.
Minister for Commerce and Industry Nawang Rigzin Jora today said more areas having marble deposits would be identified and de-notified for systematic exploitation.
The Minister directed the concerned for organising awareness programmes to educate the unemployed youth interested in setting up of marble industries.
Earlier, a deputation has demanded identification of more quarries for denotification, more power supply to marble units located in Kupwara, extension of period of mining lease and release of compensation to sick units and damages by army forces.
