CPI disagrees with Advani's demand of POTA

Jaipur, May 15: CPI Secretary and sitting MP D Raja has expressed disagreement with the BJP Prime Ministerial Candidate L K Advani's demand for re-introduction of POTA. Talking to the sources here today Mr Raja said existing laws were good enough to deal with every situation if enforced and executed with due wisdom and strong will power. Criticising the BJP for raising such a demand, the Communist leader said strengthening and modernising police force was rather the need of the hour.

He said "they always make use of such occasions (tragic situations like Jaipur serial blasts) to make this demand". Mr Raja came to Jaipur to visit Tuesday's blast sites and to meet blasts victims. Expressing concern over the incident, Mr Raja said people behind the blasts had sinister designs and intentions and added that the modus operandi of the blasts resembled those carried out at some other places.

He praised the people of Jaipur for exhibiting peace and communal harmony and said their unity had prevented communal forces from drawing undue advantage out of the tragic incidents.
