Tripura: Constable lands in jail for raping minor

Agartala, May 15: A local court in North Tripura today sent a police constable to 14 days judicial custody for raping a minor in his official residence at Nepaltilla area on Monday last.

Police said the 15-year-old girl of Kailashahar district had lost her way while going to a relative's house and sought help from constable Sujit Das, who raped her in the pretext of helping.

He also threatened the victim not to disclose anything.

However, she lodged a complaint against the constable and he was arrested, police added.
