Madhya Pradesh: Buddhist meet at Sanchi

Bhopal, May 15: An international conference of Buddhists will be held at Sanchi near here on August 9.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been invited to attend the conference.

The invitation was extended by Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society President and Sanchi Chaityagiri Vihar head Swami Banagla Upatissa, who called on Mr Chouhan at his office here yesterday, official sources said.

The Buddhist Stupas at Sanchi are a major attraction for the devouts as well as tourists from many countries.
