ACB sleuths raid govt employees' residences

Hyderabad, May 15 (UNI) The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Ltd Assistant Engineer in Devarakonda in Nalgonda District, Sarikonda Narsaraju and at the residences of his relatives and friends and unearthed assets worth Rs 65 lakh.

The ACB team raided Narsaraju's house at Miryalaguda and those of his relatives and friends at Devarakonda, Rajavaram and Hyderabad, a press release here said.

The total assets included, 34 plots, of which 24 plots were in Miryalaguda in Nalgonda District, four each in Hayathnagar and Saroornagar in Ranga Reddy district and one plot each in Bachupally in Ranga Reddy District and Suryapet in Nalgonda District. A 20-acre agricultural land in Nalgonda District, a two-storeyed house at Miryalaguda and one apartment at Malakpet were also unearthed.

One Maruti car and a Honda motorcycle, 18 'tulas' of gold, worth Rs one lakh, cash of Rs 82,000, LIC premium worth Rs 8.5 lakh, shares worth Rs 40,000, bank balance worth Rs 1.25 lakh in various banks, promissory notes worth Rs three lakh and household articles worth Rs two lakh were also unearthed.

Mr Narsaraju was arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Hyderabad.
