Two election duty officials suspended for dereliction of duty
Bangalore, May 14 (UNI) Two senior officials of Karnataka forest department drafted for election duties in the state were suspended from service for dereliction in discharging their assigned responsibilities.
Official sources said that H K Srinivas and Anil Kumar Rathan, posted at Raichur district, were suspended as they have allegedly ignored to discharge poll related responsibilities. It is for the first time that two senior officials of the state government were being punished by the EC.
The EC had earlier ordered the arrest of a state government employee Kumaraswamy for allegedly working as a booth agent of a political party in Srinivaspur during the first phase elections on May ten.
