Rupee hits fresh 13-months low at 42.35 per USD

Mumbai, May 14: Rupee today extended weakening against US Dollar and hit a fresh 13-months low at 42.35/36 per Dollar, lost around 25 paise from its previous close of 42.10/11 per Dollar.

The partially convertible Rupee furthered the losses against greenback in the opening trade on sustained demand of Dollars in the currency market. It was pulled down by record-breaking oil prices and growing worries about a slowdown in the economy, which may deter foreigners from investing in the stock market, dealers said.
