Jaipur blast: Centre offers assistance to Rajasthan

New Delhi, May 14: The Centre is providing all possible assistance to the Rajasthan government for the investigation into yesterday's serial blasts in Jaipur, which claimed at least 67 lives and left nearly 200 others injured.

Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal visited the blast site last night where he met the injured and assessed the situation. Teams of Central experts, including the National Security Guard have been sent to Jaipur to look into the details of the incident in close coordination with the state government. Meanwhile, Special Secretary (Internal Security) M L Kumawat is in Jaipur to hold discussions with the state government so that further action could be taken.

Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta told mediapersons here that efforts were on to apprehend the culprits. ''The priority is to quickly identify the culprits and apprehend them at the earliest,'' he added. The Home Ministry has already issued advisory to all the states to highten alert in view of the serial blasts in the Pink City.

National capital Delhi and Mumbai have been already put on red alert following the serial blasts. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria has said the Forensic report confirmed the use of RDX in the blasts.

The district administration of Jaipur has clamped curfew on 15 police station areas of the Pink City.
