I wish to live longer to serve people more: MK
Chennai, May 13 (UNI) In an emotional speech, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said he wished to live longer to serve the people.
Replying to the Floor Leaders of the DPA alliance parties who wished he should live for 100 years, on the occasion of the DMK Government completing two years in office, the Octogenarian leader said he wished to live longer to serve the people more.
''The wish to live longer after 50 or 60 years of age came to me because I wanted to serve the people more. I feared that if the remaining days of my life are short, the number of days to serve the people will also be very short.
This is the reason I want to live longer,'' he said and added he was making all efforts to maintain good health.
''I am getting up at five (a.m) in the morning. The reason for saying this is because I want to request youngsters and middle-aged people to practise this habit to lead a long and healthy life,'' he added.
Mr Karunanidhi said off late his wish was he should die with the satisfaction of having had friendly relations with all while serving the people.
