Charlotte Church urges new mums to breastfeed their babies

Washington, May 13 : Welsh singer Charlotte Church is urging new mums like herself to breastfeed their babies.

The singer gave birth to her daughter Ruby in September last year, and was more than happy to take part in the U.K.'s Breastfeeding Awareness Week (11-17May08).

She tells mothers about all the advantages that breast feeding gives to a baby.

"It was reassuring knowing that Ruby had extra protection from chest, ear and stomach infections, as well as from diabetes and allergies," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

"On top of that, breastfeeding is free and really convenient," she added.
