IAF trainer aircraft crashes, woman pilot killed
Hyderabad, May 12 (UNI) A trainee woman pilot was killed when an Indian Air Force Academy (IAF) trainer aircraft crashed on the outskirts of Dacharam village in Medak district, about 50 km from here today.
Speaking to UNI on phone, Medak district Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohd Iqbal said the deceased trainee pilot was identified as Ms Geetika.
The trainer aircraft HPT 32, belonging to Hakimpet Air Force Academy, crashed at 1610 hrs in an open ground, he said.
He said the body of the woman pilot and the aircraft were burnt to ashes. IAF officials immediately rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
However, no damage occurred to any property in the area due to the mishap.
