Four policemen suspended for assaulting tennis players
Varanasi, May 12 (UNI) Four policemen were suspended for allegedly beating state-level tennis players during a vehicle checking drive in the Sigra station area here last week.
Earlier, the policemen were attached to lines after the incident of assaulting the players was reported, however an official inquiry was initiated against them.
Prima facie, evidence went against the policemen and they were suspended, Police Superintendent (Rural) Sripati Mishra said today.
