3 of blood bank racket booked under NSA

Gorakhpur, May 12: Three people, including a Baba Raghav Das Medical College worker, accused in the illicit business of blood supply, have been slapped with the National Security Act (NSA) here.

Giving this information, police today said the accused comprised Medical College's lab technician Kripa Shankar, Arun Kumar and Zulfikar Ali.

On March 16, the police had conducted raids and exposed a blood bank racket being run in Shahpur area here.

Seventeen people, who were held captive by the racket for withdrawal of blood, were also rescued. The racket used to forcefully extract their blood for supply to different nursing homes of the district.
