Over 50 lakh tonne wheat arrival in Haryana
Chandigarh, May 11 (UNI) Arrival of wheat in Haryana has touched the figure of 51.46 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) during the current rabi season upto May 10, while it was total 37.37 lakh MTs during the last year.
While giving details here today, an official spokesman said that out of the total arrival in the mandis, 50.86 lakh metric tonnes wheat was procured by the Government procuring agencies while only 59,752 metric tonnes wheat was procured by the traders.
The spokesman said that the highest, 7.21 lakh metric tonnes of wheat arrived in Sirsa district followed by Karnal with 5.98 lakh metric tonnes.
