Gulbarga reels under heatwave conditions
Bangalore, May 11 (UNI) Gulbarga district in North Karnataka reeled under heat wave conditions, with the mercury soaring to 45 degrees celsius, the highest during this summer.
Met department officials said severe heat forced people to remain indoors during the day.
The city was also facing acute shortage of drinking water with the Bhima river, the main source of water supply, drying up.
The other districts in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region like Raichur, Bellary and Bijapur also experienced severe heat wave condition, the officials said.
