Dr Rahi to head press, PR in J

Srinagar, May 11 (UNI) Dr Javaid Rahi will head the Press and Public Relations Department of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

The formal orders were issued by the Academy secretariats, an official spokespersons said here today.

Dr Rahi is also looking after the Gojri wing of State Academy as head and Editor-cum-Cultural Officer.

Recipient of the National Fellowship Award from Union Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, for his outstanding contribution in the field of Tribal and Nomadic Research, with special focus on Gujjars residing in the eleven states of the country, Dr Rahi has also been awarded State's highest literary award in 1999 in Gojri by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

He has authored eight books in Gojri and headed various prestigious research projects including '' Encyclopedia of Himalayan Gujjars, Folk-Lore Dictionary of Gujjar Tribe, Hindi-Gojri Dictionary Project.

Has been appointed as Head of the Gojri wing of State Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in which he has been working since 1994.

As convenor of Gojri Chapter of J&K State Board of School Education he has prepared Gojri curriculum for induction of this tribal Language in the Schools of Jammu and Kashmir.
