Police unearth illicit liquor unit

Puducherry, May 10 (UNI) Puducherry excise police has unearthed an illicit liquor manufacturing unit at Kariyamanickam near here last evening.

Police said on a tip off that an illicit liquor manufacturing unit was functioning under the pretext of a poultry farm, the excise officials raided the premises and seized raw materials worth Rs one lakh.

However, the occupants of the poultry farm had escaped from the spot and cases were egistered against five people, police added.
