Poachers trap tiger in Balmikinagar tiger project
Bettiah, May 10 (UNI) Poachers trapped a tiger and killed it in Balmikinagar Tiger Project area in West Champaran district today.
Divisional Forest Officer Surendra Singh said the poachers had laid a trap in sector 16 in Naurangia forest of the project in West Champaran district to catch a tiger.
He said following a tip-off, the forest officials rushed to the project area but the tiger could not be saved and died.
He said that the body of the tiger had been sent for postmortem.
The forest area had been sealed and raids were launched to nab the poachers.
