Congress would extend 'Yashswini' to all families of BPL:Krishna
Bantwal, Karnataka, May 10 (UNI) Former Maharashtra Governor and senior Congress leader S M Krishna today said that his party, if voted to power, will extend the most successful 'Yeshswini' health scheme to all BPL families as many people were suffering from major ailments like heart disease.
Addressing a election meeting at Madanthyaar in this taluk, he said the party would undertake an extensive survey of the farmers and identify their problems and evolve schemes to redress their plights.
Taking strong exception to BJP's proposal to convert Karnataka into another Gujarat model if it come to power, Mr Krishna lamented saying that Karnataka need not become another Gujarat as it had its own glorious past history, culture and development. There is no need for the state to take the model of any other state. Karnataka is a model for itself. With its own model, it will achieve fast progress.
