Veteran Communist leader passes away
Hyderabad, May 9 (UNI) Senior Communist Party leader and former MP Bhim Reddy Narasimha Reddy died at his residence here today following brief illness.
He was 83.
Reddy was an active leader of the CPI (M) until 1996. He floated (M) CPI party and continued to be its leader till he breathed his last.
He was elected as MP twice from Miryalaguda Lok Sabha seat and as MLA thrice from Miryalaguda Assembly seat.
Born in Kottaguda village of Nalgonda district in 1925, the veteran leader had also actively participated in the Telangana struggle and anti-Nizam movement.
The last rites would be performed this evening. Several political leaders, including Home Minister K Jana Reddy, paid tributes to the departed leader.
