Tension in KGF, BJP candidate attacked

Kolar Gold Fields, May 9 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the town following attack of BJP candidate Sampangi and three of his supporters by unidentified culprits here late last night.

Police said that the miscreants, who followed Mr Sampangi's car way laid it near Robertsonpet and attacked the inmates with lethal weapons.

Mr Sampangi jumped out of the car and escaped with minor injury.

However, three of his followers in the car sustained injuries and were admitted to Government General Hospital.

The incident spread like a wildfire and thousands of BJP workers came to street in protest against the attack.

Case has been booked with the Police and a complaint was also sent to the Election Commission.
