Lackadaisical attitude of govt bodies mar development: Vaghela

Moradabad, May 9 (UNI) Union textile minister Shankarsingh Vaghela today said the developmental schemes were adversely affected due to lackadaisical approach of 'insensitive' government bodies.

After distributing health insurance cards to brass craftsmen here, Mr Vaghela said ''the officials have to change their way of thinking, if we want the success of our developmental schemes.'' The minister terming the Rajiv Gandhi Shilpi Health Insurance Scheme profitable for craftsmen and their families, said handicraft is an important role in our economy.

In fact, handicraft palys a significant role in providing employment and export, the union minister claimed.

To promote this sector, six clusters would be installed, of which two each would be for handloom, powerloom and handicraft, he added.
