Home Minister Patil to visit Shillong on May 13

Shillong, May 9 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will arrive here on May 13 on a day's visit to participate in a number of programmes organised by the Assam Rifles (AR).

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the AR Lt Col S Ranjan said here today that Mr Patil will attend the Annual Commanders' Conference of AR on May 13, besides inaugurating a new block building at Laitkor near here.

The Commanders' Conference will be a two-day affair starting on May 12.

Later, the Union Minister will address the AR soldiers at a special Sainik Sammelan and hold discussions with the Directorate General of Assam Rifles (DGAR) Commanders at the headquarters.

Mr Patil is likely to leave the same day in the evening, the PRO added.
