Father kills daughter, son-in-law for breaking taboo
Karnal, May 9 (UNI) A father allegedly killed his newly-wed daughter and her husband in village Balla in the district last night for entering into a marriage alliance considered taboo in rural Haryana.
Sunita (25), a resident of village Balla, had fallen in love with Jagveer (25) of the same village and the two left the village six months ago after tying the nuptial knot, to escape the wrath of the family and villagers as being of the same village, they were considered brother and sister and marriage between them was a taboo.
According to police, the father of the girl, Prakash Singh, contacted the couple and under garb of reconciliation, took them to his home.
However, he allegedly stragulated the couple in their sleep.
The police, which got the informtion about the crime this morning has arrested the accused father, who is however, being hailed by majority of the villagers.
