Residents resort to road roko following girl's death in TN

Kancheepuram, May 8 (UNI) Residents in this temple town of Tamil Nadu resorted to road-roko agitation disrupting traffic when a 15-year-old girl student was crushed to death by a sand-laden lorry today.

Police said the victim Shobana, who was proceeding on her bicycle to attend her computer class, was run over by the lorry, which was going to Chennai from here.

Irate residents threw stones at the lorry and hit with sticks. They also attacked several sand-laden lorries on the way, following which traffic came to a halt for two-and-half hours.

A police team rushed to the spot and restored normalcy.
