Record blood donation in Red Cross Society district unit
Jamshedpur, Mar 08 (UNI) The East Singhbhum district unit of Red Cross Society today created a national record as 894 people, including 100 women, donated blood on the occasion of World Red Cross Day.
Society district unit secretary Vijay Kumar Singh claimed it was an all India record when so many people donated blood to an organisation in a day.
The previous highest donation of blood in a day of the organisation was 798, Mr Singh informed.
District Deputy Commissioner N M Kulkarni, Chairman of the organisation, was among others who donated blood on the occasion.
