NBCC expresses concern over violence
Kohima, May 8 (UNI) The Nagaland Baptist Church Council(NBCC) has condemned and expressed concern over the increasing number of abductions and fratricidal killings among the underground factions in Nagaland.
In a release here today by NBCC general secretary Rev Zhabu Terhuja, the NBCC termed the people who indulged in killings in the name of the nation or land as 'national destroyers' on the contrary to their claims of 'national workers'.
The release stated that the NBCC strongly believes that this was not the path towards political sovereignty and it was whimsical on the part of the ''killers'' to believe that they would get support of the people by going against their wishes and terrorising them.
The NBCC appreciated the initiative and attempts of the various societies to bring peace back to the land. Furthermore, the NBCC extended its support and sympathies to the endeavours of any organisation or society who would offer its help in the peace process.
