Mallika case adjourned till July 10
Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) A local court today adjourned till July 10, the hearing on a petition filed against Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat for allegedly putting up an ''obscene'' dance performance on December 31, 2006 in a five-star hotel here.
The complainant, Vinod Jain, today sought time on health grounds as he has undergone bypass surgery recently. Metropolitan magistrate G R Wankhande granted the request and adjourned the matter till July 10.
Mr Jain had filed the case against Mallika alleging that her performance in a five-star hotel on New Year's eve was obscene.
He had filed the case on the basis of the television footage of the show.
Mallika had reportedly charged Rs 75 lakh for the 45-minute show.
Mr Jain stated in his complaint that the actress was indecently clad during the show and her dance performance was also very offensive to Indian culture.
