Karnal, May 7 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda today called upon the people of Indri constituency to vote for the Congress Candidate Bhim Sain Mehta so as to further speed up development activities in the constituency.

Mr Hooda today visited 12 villages of the Indri constituency and addressed largely attended public meetings. The villages he campaigned in were Sangoya, Kheri Maan Singh, Bhadson, Khanpur, Nandi, Kalra Jagir, Khukhni, Chogama, Garhi Birbal, Kalsora, Bara Gaon and Kunjpura.

At all the places, he was given rousing reception by the residents of the respective areas by garlanding, presenting siropas, swords and weighing against coins.

The Chief Minister told the people that the development works done by his government in the last three years were more than those done by all the previous government in the last forty years.

He said all sections of the society had been given relief and provided more facilities for their prosperity. The government had waived off electricity bills amounting Rs 1600 crore and interest of co-operative loans amounting to Rs 830 crores.

He said his government was giving the highest minimum wages of Rs 3510 to labourers in the state.

The Chief Minister remarked that the interests of all sections of the society were safe in the hands of the Congress Party as it had struggled to get independence for the country and thereafter engaged in making it a most prosperous country in the world. He said that under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh many historical decisions had been taken for the benefit of the people of the country, especially for down trodden and those living in the rural areas of the country.
