28 passengers killed in Kishtwar accident in J

Jammu, May 8 (UNI) At least 28 passengers were killed and six injured when a bus plunged into river Chenab while negotiating a sharp curve, about 20 kms short of Kishtwar, in Jammu and Kashmir today, official sources said.

ADC, Kishtwar, Riyaz Ahmed told UNI that the injured had been shifted to the district hospital.

The search operation to fish out the other drowned passengers was still continuing, he added.

Troops of 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), police and locals were conducting searches in Chenab.
