Sri Lankan drug peddler arrested in city

Chennai, May 6 (UNI) Sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested a Sri Lankan wanted in connection with several drug cases.

An NCB release here today said Guna alias Gund Sakaran (42), accused in 4.15 kg of heroin seizure in Chennai and 5.25 kg of heroin seizure in Bangalore, was held in the city yesterday.

The accused had been trafficking narcotic drugs between India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and he was also wanted by the Sri Lankan police for his heinous underworld activities.

Guna moved to Sivagangai District in Tamil Nadu from Goa recently.

NCB sleuths had been searaching for the accused from the time of registering the case and he was arrested by executing a non-bailable warrant against him.

He was remanded to judicial custody, the release added.
