40 crore for IWDP to stop soil erosion in Rafidbad
Srinagar, May 6: The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned Rs 40 crore for Integrated Watershed Development Project (IWDP) for Rafiabad in north Kashmir.
Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Horticulture Mohammad Dilawar Mir assured during his visit to the area that work on this ambitious project would start within two months, an official spokesman said today.
The minister said soil erosion caused due to flashin three major Nallahs-- Viji, Nallah Hamal and Nallah Dakli-- would be treated under the IWDP.
The project will also create self employment, he added.
The project would be a milestone in bringing green revolution in the area, the Minister said.
