No impact of Akhilesh resignation: Congress
New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) The Congress today sought to downplay the resignation of its MP Akhilesh Das from the Party and the Rajya Sabha, saying that it would not create even a ripple.
''This is the example of worst kind of political opportunism,'' AICC Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told mediapersons.
Asked if the resignation of Mr Das was a setback to the party in Uttar Pradesh, she said ''leave alone setback...not even a ripple.'' Referring to the allegation of Mr Das that the party leadership was working at the behest of a ''caucus'', Ms Natarajan said ''We reject all his allegations with the contempt it deserved.'' She said he was making all allegations out of frustration caused by his dropping from the Union Council of Ministers last month.
