University directed to pay compensation to student
Puducherry, May 4 (UNI) The Puducherry Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum has directed the Madurai Kamaraj University to pay a compensation of Rs 30,000 to a youth here, who pursued a Post-Graduate Degree in Journalism by correspondence course.
The student, Ramesh Kumar, was not informed of the second-year examination by the University and hence could not attend the examination.
He moved the District Consumer Redressal Forum which turned down his plea for compensation forcing him to go for an appeal with the State Forum.
Forum President Balasubramanian, after going through the complaint, found there was a lapse of duty on the part of the University and ordered payment of the compensation.
