Sri Lankan Tamil refugee commits suicide

Tiruchirapalli, May 4: A 21-year-old Sri Lankan Tamil refugee allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the refugee camp at Kottapattu here yesterday.

Police said the deceased was identified as K Senthilnathan and arrived here in 1990 as a refugee, resided in the camp and worked as a coolie.

Acting on the information, police rushed to the spot and removed the body for post-mortem.

Investigation was, underway, police added.
