Shimla records hottest day at 28.7 degrees; Una sizzles at 42.8

Shimla, May 4 (UNI) The famous tourist resort of Shimla town today recorded the hottest day at 28.7 degrees of this summers, while Una town was the hottest place in Hiamchal Pradesh at 42.8 degree Celsius, the met office said.

The state capital recorded the hottest day of this summer at 28.7 degrees as against 28.1 degree Celsius recorded yesterday, following another bright and a sunny day today.

The maximum temperature in Una town touched a new high of 42.8 degree Celsius after recording a day temperature of 42.2 degrees yesterday, making it the hottest place of the state during the last 24 hours.

The Met office said the day temperature at Sundernagar rose by a few notches to 39.4 degrees as against 38. 9 degrees recorded yesterday, while the maximum temperature at Bhuntar stood at 36 degrees.

Kalpa in Kinnuar district stood at 23.1, 35 at the famous tourist resort of Dharamshala, and 38.8 degree Celsius in Mandi town, it said.

Shimla town also recorded the warmest night of the season at 18.8 degree Celsius last night. Yesterday, the town had recorded a night temperature of 18.3 degrees.

The night temperature at Sundernagar rose by about three degrees to 16.2 degrees followed by 13.4 at Bhuntar, 7.1 at Kalpa 7.1, 21.7 at Dharamshala, 17.5 at Mandi and 15.9 degree Celsius at Una town.

The Met office has forecast another bright and a sunny day in the state during the next 24 hours.
