Pavan Kalyan should be arrested: Vidyasagar Rao

Hyderabad, May 4: Former Union Minister and the BJP National Secretary Ch Vidyasagar Rao today said Telugu film actor Pavan Kalyan, younger brother of the Telugu matinee idol Chiranjeevi, should be arrested in connection with the bigamy case, pending against him in the court.

Addressing the media here, Mr Rao pointed out that Mr Pavan was not arrested in the bigamy case, filed by his first wife Nandini.

She was fighting for justice in the High Court after the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Court dismissed the case.

Demanding that the state government should make suitable amendment in 198 CrPC to take action against the accused, who had married for the second time, without obtaining divorce from the first wife.

The government should constitute a high level committee to study the increasing bigamy cases and the transmission of crime related stories in TV channels in the state, Mr Rao said.
