Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Dawood celebrated in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 1 (UNI) Thousands of people today joined the prayers at the shrine of Sheikh Dawood Batamaloo on the occasion of Urs during which only vegetarian food is cooked and served.

The prayers at the shrine at Batmaloo near the general bus stand continued throughout the night during which muslim ulemmas addressed the congregation.

People, including women and children, from different parts of the valley attended the Urs, which will continue for two more days.

People of Batamaloo and adjacent areas cook and serve only vegetarian foods during the Urs days.
