Shimla, May 2 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) president and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Vadra today left for New Delhi after a two-day private visit to the hill state's capital, official sources said.

Ms Gandhi and her daughter arrived at Chararbra, near here, yesterday to inspect the site for the construction of a farm house near the Presidential Estate 'The Retreat', the sources told UNI here.

They said she landed at Kalyani helipad early today and visited the site where the Vadra's have bought a land for construction of a farm house.

The previous Congress Government had approved the sale of one acre of land close to The Retreat after the President had cleared the proposal, the sources added.

Ms Gandhi's and her daughter's visit was kept a close secret until she left for Delhi this afternoon.
