Mixed response to BJP bandh in Assam

Guwahati, May 2 (UNI) The BJP's dawn-to-dusk countrywide strike against skyrocketing prices of essential commodities evoked mixed response in Assam today.

Shops and business establishments were closed both in the Brahamputra as well as Barak valley.

Public transport was off the roads but private vehicles were seen.

Offices and schools remained open.

No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the state, police said.
