BJP's day long strike on price hike gets partial response in UP
Lucknow, May 2 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sponsored nation wide dawn-to-dusk strike against sky rocketing prices of essential commodities witnessed a partial response in Uttar Pradesh today.
Government offices were functioning normally, while vehicular traffic was regular. Most of the markets were also open.
No untoward incident was reported from any part of the state, police said.
However, according to BJP leaders the strike had paralysed vehicular and train services in different parts of the state. They further claimed that people themselves came on the road with the party activists in support of the strike.
In Lucknow, the BJP workers made a human chain in front of the Vidhan Sabha and demonstrated with vegetables and other essential commodities.
