BJP holds demonstrations in Nashik against inflation

Nashik, May 2 (UNI) The activists of city BJP unit held demonstrations here today against inflation as part of its nationwide protests.

Nearly 200 activists of the city unit, led by their chief Vijay Sane and secretary Gopal Patil, held demonstrations and formed a human chain against inflation at Panchavati Karanja area of the city. The inflation has struck the mark of 7.57, the highest in last three and half years. Even women activists were seen in the demonstration.

The protestors, wearing black ribbons, shouted slogans against both the Maharashtra and Centre governments.

''We are protesting against the rising inflation by forming human chain. We have decided to come on the streets against the rising prices. We appeal the state and Union governments to take preventive steps to curb the inflation.

Vehicular traffic was affected for sometime due to demonstrations.
