17-yr-old kidnapped girl recovered from Himachal, accused arrested
New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Delhi police have recovered the 17-year-old girl from Himachal Pradesh who went missing in July last year from her house in Rohini and arrested a 58-year-old person in this connection.
A team of Delhi police crime branch recovered the girl from a rented room in Nahan town of Himachal Pradesh where she had been kept by the abductor Shagun Narayan Shukla, a small time businessman of Delhi, after he kidnapped her in July last year.
According to a complaint lodged by the mother of the girl, she went missing from a DTC bus in July. After efforts by the local police to trace the girl failed, the case was handed over to the crime branch who zeroed in on Shagun Narayan Shukla.
Coming to know that the accused was in Nahan Town where he had kept the girl, a team of the crime branch went there on April 29 and recovered the girl after an intensive search.
The girl had been brought to Delhi and handed over to her parents, the police said.
