Senior officer arrested along with girl in north Kashmir

Baramulla, Apr 30 (UNI) A senior officer in Jammu and Kashmir handlooms was arrested by police from a hotel along with a girl at Handwara last night, official sources said.

They said a police party raided a local hotel at Handwara main town following a tip-off that a senior officer and a girl were in one of the rooms.

The officer was later arrested, they said, adding the girl later told police that the accused officer had called her in a hotel room for an interview.

Police has recovered application of the girl also, they said.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Handwara, said a case of exploitation has been registered against the officer.

He said FIR 56/2008 stands registered in the police station.
